Celta Vigo goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has had a pop at former coach Rafa Benitez.

The pair fell out before Benitez's sacking and the former Crystal Palace No1 says the players are happier under Claudio Giraldez.

He told AS: I think that in the end we have seen that the team plays more football with the change of coach, has more possession of the ball, seeks to be more of a protagonist in the game and has scored more points, which has given a boost to the final stretch of the season.

So many things came out that few could be true. They are talks that we have at a group level within the locker room and they are things that have to stay there. So many things came out that are not true that did us more harm than good. When things aren't going well, the most important thing is to talk about it.

"We did that and it was solved, which was the main thing. In the end, the club decided to dismiss the coach, but I don't decide anything, just as it appeared in the press."

On signing a new deal, Guaita added: I don't know. They also said in London that it was my last contract and I renewed it two more times and came to Celta. I go week by week, I have one year left on my contract and if I feel good, we'll see what happens."
